To Re-Use My Content |

I'm in the process of open sourcing a lot of this project. That means virtually all of the text on this web site is being made available for folks to re-use under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License. This means that you, my reader(s), will be able to use my textual content (and many of my photos) in your own websites, etc. under license (ie: with no copyright infringement problem) as long as you attribute the content that you re-use to sangres.com, and if you then add more content to that content, you re-license your "add-on" work for similar use under similar license. The text on Sangres.com is entirely a result of my own research and experience. The story with photos and images, however, is different on all my pages, but if you look at the comments at the bottom of each page, the reality is usually spelled out. Photos from the National Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management and US Fish & Wildlife Service are virtually always in the public domain and reusable by anyone. Sometimes they ask for a little more attribution (the photographer's name, etc.) and I try to give it to them. Some photos are used under Fair Use Doctrine: those are the photos on some pages that are not mentioned among the attributions at the bottom of the page and I don't offer a licensing mechanism for them as they are not mine (although I probably need to sort out how to attribute them anyway). The ideal form of attribution looks something like this: This article (or photo) was provided by Sangres.com. Content on Sangres.com can be shared under a Creative Commons License. If you want, you could just copy the line of html code in the box below into the source code of whatever you are doing and it will generate the line written above (without my CSS). Just place it at the bottom of your page so it shows to your readers, do not insert a "nofollow" tag and I'll be happy.
