Romeo is located at the junction of U.S. Highway 285 and Colorado Highway 142 (Los Caminos Antiguos Scenic and Historic Byway). The majority of the residents are of Hispanic descent, most tracing their roots back to the days of the early 1850's settlements in the Sangre de Cristo and Conejos Land Grants. This is a mostly farming and ranching area in the south-central San Luis Valley. |
