This photo was taken from just south of La Veta, looking southwest. State Highway 12 is that road in the center of the photo. The prominent feature in the lower center is Profile Dike. To the upper left is the West Spanish Peak. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains run across the top, left to right being south to north. The obvious ski slope is Cuchara Mountain Resort (closed, and may never open again).
