The Zimmerman Trail is about 11.6 miles long (one way) and is rated as More Difficult.
Trailhead Location: From Fort Collins take Highway 14 west about 35 miles to the Pingree Park Road. Turn south on Pingree Park Road and travel four miles to Crown Point Road. Follow Crown Point Road about 19 miles to its end. The Zimmerman Trail is within the Comanche Peak Wilderness. The southern end of the trail starts at the Flowers Trail and runs north to within 1/4 miles of the Poudre River, ending at private land. Users starting at the trailhead have the option of hiking three miles south to the Flowers Trail, or going up to 8.5 miles north on a slightly steeper trail. |
