The 3.5 mile Dike Trail is rated as moderate and sees most of its use in the summer and fall.
Access: Go to Cuchara via State Highway 12. At the Community Center go east about 3/4 miles past the Misty Haven cabins to the parking lot at the trailhead. A couple miles further south on Highway 12 near the Cuchara River Ranch is the southern trailhead, but it isn't marked well at all. Notes: This trail follows the valley on the east side of the Dakota Wall until just past the "Acres of Diamonds" area, where it crosses over the Dakota Wall and reaches the southern trailhead.
