This moderately difficult, 2.8 mile trail is in the central Wet Mountains. It sees most traffic in the summer and fall.
Access: From either Rye or McKenzie Junction, take State Road 165 to the Bigelow Divide. Near the summit of the divide, Forest Service Road #383 goes east. Follow it about 1.5 miles to the trailhead. Notes: This trail starts out near the top of the spine of the Wet Mountains and drops down to the east to end at private land. There are no outlets along the way so the only way out is back up the hill. USGS Maps: Deer Peak, St. Charles Peak, Wetmore |
