This is a difficult, 6.4 mile trail in the northern Wet Mountains. Recommended season is summer and fall.
Access: On State Road 165 between McKenzie Junction and the Bigelow Divide, turn east on Forest Road 386. Go about 3 miles to the trailhead. Notes: This trail climbs up through Bad Canyon and onto the eastern and southern slopes of Rudolph Mountain. This is an area with incredible shapes and formations eroded into the 1.8-billion-year-old granite. Pine and aspen forests, great views, lots of wildlife, but bring plenty of your own water.
