Pitkin County is in the heart of the mountains in central Colorado. Great mountains, great skiing, lots of high-dollar real estate and resorts, and some world-famous villages, never mind the jet-setters and movie stars. Named for Colorado Governor Frederick Walker Pitkin, Pitkin County contains 970 square miles of land and 3 square miles of water. The county seat is Aspen. |
