Rio Blanco County is in northwestern Colorado with Utah to the west. Part of the Flat Tops Wilderness is here. The Colorado Division of Wildlife claims the largest elk herd in Colorado lives around Meeker (the Trinchera herd is larger but migrates back and forth across the New Mexico border, so it doesn't count). Rio Blanco County contains 3,221 square miles of land and 2 square miles of water. The county seat is Meeker. |
