Well, the canyon bottom has dropped away. This side of the stream is private, the other side BLM. Part of the fun in taking photos like these it you can't get the entire scene into the camera: the scene is just too big. I'm looking back to take this photo because I'm trying to get some scale as to relative elevation and slope angle but I'm limited by my hardware. I think I took this photo while hanging out my window because the road was so narrow, if I opened my door to step out, there was no road to step on... For someone on foot or horseback the hillside doesn't look too steep, but in a vehicle, it's a whole other story. |
