Ski Cooper
Lake County, Colorado

Ski Cooper is located off of US Highway 24 on top of Tennessee Pass, about 10 miles north of Leadville. This was the location for training the famed 10th Mountain Division in World War II. Today, Ski Cooper is Colorado's 5th oldest ski area with full base facilities and modern lifts in an area known for its world-class skiing. Perhaps a bit smaller than some of the other local world-renowned ski resorts, Ski Cooper is also an affordable alternative to all that glitz and glamor, recognized as one of the nation's most innovative and successful smaller ski resorts.

The Day Lodge at Ski Cooper offers a retail shop, equipment rental shop, restaurant and nursery (ages 2 to 7 years). The Piney Creek Nordic Center offers retail, equipment rentals and repairs, and access to 24K of groomed cross-country and skating trails. The fully accredited Ski Cooper Ski School offers adult, child, private, group, snowboard and race lessons, and a women's clinic. Lessons for handicapped skiers are by appointment only.
