Teller County is on the western slopes of the Front Range (Pikes Peak area) in central Colorado. There is still an operating gold mine in Victor but the only gold in Cripple Creek is to be found on the gaming tables. Named for US Senator Henry M. Teller, Teller County contains 557 square miles of land and 2 square miles of water. The county seat is Cripple Creek.
