And here's a place where the rock suddenly changes from the red feldspar mix to a gray something-or-other. With the feldspar going out of the mix, the rock loses some of its angularity and looks like it "slumps" more. I don't know if it's the elevation change or what but the rock up here also supports more and bigger tree cover. Notice the road going through the chunk of rock ahead of the Trailblazer. The drop-off to the right is slowly getting deeper and steeper.

In terms of mileage, this isn't even halfway to Victor yet.
