Shelf Road Part 1

Pretty quickly, the descent down the canyon got right into it and the walls began to rise. Notice the mix of grayish and reddish granite. Shelf Road was pretty windy without much in the way of turnouts. I didn't see much for rock fall along the way either, nor I did I see much reason for high clearance but Shelf Road is still not recommended for anything over 25 feet in length (or anything towing a trailer), especially once you get down below Marigold and find yourself on that narrow road on that famous shelf. But this upper section was mostly along the bottom of the canyon, not snaking along halfway up the canyon wall.
