That photo of the rock beside the Trailblazer on Shelf Road Part 1: that rock is rising on the right side of this photo. This shot was taken from the same place but it looks back up the road I just came down. The road turns a full 180° around that big rock on the right and continues on down the canyon. There's still lots of tree cover but the canyon is getting deeper and more rock is exposed. Notice the aspens in the foreground and all that spruce in the background. This is still above 8,000 feet in elevation. |
