This photo was taken just below that famous wall. You can see that you'd want to either be pretty good at free-climbing granite or you'll want some technical experience, a helmet and some gear before you get yourself into trouble trying to get to the window. As for scaling the other part of that wall, well, that's a wall you're going to remember for a while. The north face of Mt. Blanca is a longer and higher climb but it isn't this relentlessly vertical over any span the size of this one. But it looks like there's some good cracks to work with... of course, getting up it is going to be easier than getting down, unless you brought lots of rope with you. |
