Located along the route of the historic California Trail, Lava Hot Springs sits next to the Portneuf River. The numerous easily accessible hot springs in the area have made the town somewhat of a popular resort. There are several different pools and hot springs available in town. The Portneuf River has also become a popular whitewater rafting and tubing river, in season. Many people find their way to Lava Hot Springs by following the Oregon Trail-Bear Lake Scenic Byway and checking out all the historic sites in the area. |
