Elmore County is in southwestern Idaho. Elmore County was named for the Ida Elmore Mines, the biggest gold and silver producers in the area, back in the 1860's. Elmore County was founded in 1889 and contains 3,078 square miles of land and 23 square miles of water. The county seat is Mountain Home.
