Located high above Flathead Lake, Blacktail Mountain is Montana's newest ski area. Affordable and family-friendly, Blacktail Mountain offers 24 trails covering 13 miles of terrain, and another 70 acres of gladed tree skiing. And with normally unlimited visibility imagine: 360° views including the Flathead Valley and Glacier National Park. Blacktail Mountain is a little different in that the parking area and lodge are at the top of the mountain: you'll have a good run in before you get on the first chair. The Independence Terrain Park offers: 24' step down rail, 20' & 12' straight rails, 18' rainbow rail, 8' box, and step-up, table top and pyramid jumps.The Blacktail Mountain Lodge offers fine dining at Muley's on the 3rd floor or a very affordable cafeteria on the main level. Multiple lodging options and other dining is available in Lakeside, Somers and other surrounding towns.

Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is located off US Highway 93, 45 minutes from downtown Kalispell and 2 hours north of Missoula. From Lakeside, go 13.2 miles west on Blacktail Mountain Road.
