CL Ranch Cross-Country Ski Trails

CL Ranch offers 8 miles of groomed Nordic trails with a trailhead at about 6,000 feet in the foothills of Montana's Crazy Mountains. In the open pastures the views are incredible, from Emigrant Peak, 50 miles to the south, to the Big Belt Mountains, 50 miles to the northwest. A bit farther and you're in the trees, where marked trails wind through thin stands of timber.

The skiing cost is $10 per day, per person. At the trailhead is a well-marked honor box with mandatory liability release forms and maps of the ranch.

Take US Highway 89 north through Clyde Park. About 1 mile north of town you'll turn right (east) on Cottonwood Bench Road and go 7 miles toward the Crazy Mountains. At every major intersection along the road you'll see a small orange sign saying "Ski" to mark the route.
