The Rendezvous Ski Trails are operated and maintained by the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce. This 42 kilometer Nordic trail system winds through the Gallatin National Forest next to Yellowstone National Park. November sees the US Nordic and Biathlon teams training here, along with hundreds of other race enthusiasts getting in their early season training. Dogs and snowmobiles are prohibited. The trails are open to the public from December 1 to March 30. It's $3 for a day, $20 for an individual season pass or $40 for the whole family for the whole season. Passes can be bought at the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce, the Hebgen Lake District Ranger Office and at several of the ski shops in West Yellowstone. If the price is too much for you, a short drive out of town puts you in the heart of millions of acres of gentle backcountry touring terrain. The trailhead for the Rendezvous Ski Trails is at the intersection of Obsidian Avenue and Geyser Street in West Yellowstone. |
