Black Canyon Rim Campground

Access: About 3 miles south of the junction of State Highway 260 and Forest Road 300 South. Forest Road 300 South is located about 13 miles west of Heber, AZ. The campground is reached via Forest Road 86.

Elevation: 7,600'

Depending on the weather, the campground may be open year-round, but the usual season runs from early May to some time in November.

Black Canyon Lake is about 3 miles northeast of the campground and offers fishing and boating (electric motors only). There is also a historical grave site within walking distance of the campground.

Facilities:

  • 21 family campsites with campfire grills and picnic tables for tents, trailers and small motorhomes up to 16 feet in length.
  • Drinking water, vault toilets & garbage facilities.
  • Gravel roads
  • Campground Hosts on site.

Other notes:

  • Concessionaire operated
  • Gas, phone, and groceries are available at Forest Lakes, 8 miles to the west.
  • The nearest full service community is Heber/Overgaard, 8 miles to the east via Hwy 260.
