Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest
Canyon Point Campground

Access: The entrance to Canyon Point Campground is located on State Highway 260, about 4.5 miles east of the Rim Visitor Information Station, about 19 miles west of Heber, AZ.

Elevation: 7,680'

Depending on the weather, season is generally mid-May to mid-October.

Boating and fishing are available at Willow Springs Lake, about 5 miles away. There are trailheads here leading to Sinkhole and the edge of the Mogollon Rim. The campground is located in a Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forest. In July and August be prepared for summer rains, sometimes heavy. And the evenings and nights can get chilly up here.

  • 88 family camping units, 32 of which have electricity.
  • Tents, trailers and motorhomes up to 75 feet long.

  • 5 quad sites that accommodate 16 people each
  • A Group campsite is also available

Other notes:

  • Concessionaire operated.
  • There is an interpretative program at the amphitheater.
  • A maximum of two vehicles and eight persons allowed per family site.
  • There is a public telephone near the campground entrance.
  • Gas, telephones, and groceries, are available 2 miles east at Forest Lakes.
  • The nearest full service community is 20 miles east via Hwy 260 at Overgaard, AZ.
