Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest

Access: Cutthroat Campground is in the Big Lake Recreation Complex, about 25 miles south of Springerville, AZ, via State Road 273. Elevation: 9,040' Camping season generally runs from mid-May through September. Most campsites are walk-in with no parking at the site. Sites are scattered among the Ponderosas, spruce and aspen. The campground is not designed to accommodate motor homes or trailers. Expect cool to cold nights and heavy rains in July and August. Facilities:
