Deer Creek Campground

Access: On US Highway 191, go 2 miles north of Alpine, turn west onto Forest Road 249. Go 5 miles on the gravel to Forest Road 276. Turn and go south on FR 276 for 6 miles to the East Fork developed camping areas.

Elevation: 7,645'

Season here generally runs from May through October, depending on the weather.

Deer Creek Campground is the most rustic campground on the East Fork of the Black River. Rustic or not, the campsites here are very popular and are only available on a first come, first served basis.

Facilities:

  • Six single unit sites with fire rings
  • Vault toilets

Other notes:

  • Concessionaire operated but no utilities
  • Drinking water is available
  • Keep your pets on a leash or otherwise restrained
