Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest

Access: Gabaldon Campground is just east of Phelps Trailhead, near Colter Creek on the edge of the Mt. Baldy Wilderness, off State Road 273. Elevation: 9,400' Camping season depends on the weather but is generally from June through September. This campground is located among the spruce trees at the foot of Mt. Baldy Wilderness. The East Baldy Trail #95 connects the campground with the Wilderness. The Wilderness allows hiking, fishing, horseback riding, bird and wildlife watching but no mechanized vehicles (including no mountain bikes). Facilities:
