Lakeside Campground

Access: The Lakeside Campground is on the south side of State Highway 260, right across from the Lakeside Ranger Station.

Elevation: 6,950'

Season runs from May 1 to September 31.

With a location near Rainbow Lake and in the middle of the Ponderosa forest making this one of the most popular campgrounds in the area, Lakeside Campground is also one of the oldest National Forest campgrounds in Arizona.

Facilities:

  • 82 family units, allowing up to 8 persons per unit, with picnic tables and campfire grills
  • Sites for tents, trailers, and motorhomes up to 32 feet long
  • Campground hosts on site
  • Drinking water, vault toilets and RV dump station on site

Other notes:

  • No utility hookups
  • Operated by a concessionaire
  • All pets must be on a leash or otherwise restrained
  • Nearest gas, groceries and restaurant are in Lakeside
  • Reservations are available. Call 877-444-6777 or go to Reservations.
