Racoon Campground is a new camping area being developed to replace some campsites that were too close to the riparian area along the East Fork of the Black River. These campsites are a bit further back from the river's edge but access to the great fishing is still easy. This is a very picturesque area with alders and streamside hardwoods lining the river below the tall Ponderosas that populate the walls of the valley. The very popular sites here are available only on a first come, first served basis.

Facilities:

  • Ten single unit campsites with stone fire rings
  • Vault toilets

Other notes:

  • Drinking water is available
  • Keep your pets restrained or on a leash
  • Concessionaire operated but no utilities available
