Winn Campground

Access: Winn Campground is on Forest Road 554, off State Road 273 between the Phelps Trailhead and Sheeps Crossing.

Elevation: 9,320'

Camping season generally runs from mid-May through October, but after mid-October the camping is free.

Located near the East and West Forks of the Little Colorado River and near the Mt. Baldy Wilderness trailheads, Winn Campground is a favorite among the hikers and anglers. Some sites are next to a large meadow where elk often hang out around twilight. The vegetation is a mix of conifers and aspen. The 2 group sites are popular for family reunions and scout groups.

Facilities:

  • 63 units with fire rings and grills, to accommodate tents, trailers and motorhomes up to 45 feet long
  • There are also 2 group sites that can accommodate up to 50 people each
  • Campground hosts on site
  • Drinking water, Picnic tables, Vault toilets and Garbage collection

Other notes:

  • No utilities and no dump station
  • Keep your pets restrained or on a leash
