Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest

This 8.7 mile trail follows Billy Creek through a Ponderosa pine forest to the top of Blue Ridge Mountain, an ancient volcano whose summit offers scenic vistas of the area. As portions of the trail follow old logging roads, the trail is rated as moderate (although the rating for mountain bikes is "difficult"). The trail sees moderate use from the spring through the fall. Connecting trails head southeast to Springs Trail and northwest to Blue Ridge Cave Trail. Elevation: 7,100' to 7,600' Access: From Lakeside, go south on State Road 260 to Bucksprings Road. Turn east and go to Forest Road 182 where you'll turn north and go to Forest Road 187.
