|
This moderate-rated, 6.5 mile trail sees light use from spring to early winter. This connector trail between the two others winds in and out of thick pine forests as it works its way across several drainages. Along the way, the trail crosses several main forest service roads in the area so access is pretty easy. Elevation: 7,000' to 7,800' Access: To find the Country Club Trailhead, go south 0.6 miles on State Road 260 from Lakeside Ranger Station to Bucksprings Road. Turn left on Forest Service Road 182 (Bucksprings Road) and go 2 miles. Where FSR 182 veers left, stay straight on FSR 185 past Sierra Springs Ranch entrance. The trailhead is on the right. Go east on the trail to the connector, which starts northwest of Chipmunk Springs. To get to Los Burros Trailhead, go south on State Road 260 to McNary. In McNary, turn left on FSR 224 towards Vernon. 8 miles in is the Los Burros Campground. Los Burros Trailhead is at the far end of the campground. Follow Los Burros west to Reservation Flats. At the southwest corner of Reservation Flats is where the connector trail heads off towards Country Club Trail. |
