Rim Lake Vista Trail #622

This easy-to-moderate trail is about 3.5 miles long (one way) and sees heavy traffic year-round.

Elevation: 7,500'

This trail wanders along the edge of the Mogollon Rim and provides some spectacular views of the Rim country and rock outcroppings below. In July and August, thunderstorms are common. This is a very exposed trail in the second most lightning-struck area on Earth. Be careful.

Access: 26 miles west of Heber on State Road 260, right across the road from the Rim Visitor Information Station, is the turn onto Forest Road 300. The main trailhead for this trail is on FR 300, just below SR 260.
