The Sinkhole Trail is about 1/2 mile long and is rated as easy-to-moderate. It see heavy use in spring, summer and fall. Elevation: 7,600' Sinkhole Trail begins at Loop B in the Canyon Point Campground and goes straight to the lip of a sinkhole before descending steeply to the bottom. The environment and vegetation change dramatically in the sinkhole, going from Ponderosa pine, aspen, Douglas and white fir to flowers and shrubbery. Access: Canyon Point Campground is 17 miles southwest of Heber, on State Road 260. Go into the campground and follow the signs first to Loop B, then to the trailhead for the Sinkhole Trail.
