In the winter, this trail is for snowshoeing and cross country skiing only: no snowmobiles. 2.5 miles up State Road 578 (Upper Red River Canyon Road), past the turnoff to Eagle Nest, on the west side of the road is Goose Creek Trail 65. Don't confuse this with Goose Lake Road, which is before Goose Creek and nearer to Red River: snowmobiles are allowed on Goose Lake Road. Owing to its relative steepness, this 8 mile trail is suited primarily for experienced skiers and snowshoers. Rating: Expert USGS Quad: Red River |
