San Isabel National Forest

This 1/2 mile long trail is rated as easy and sees most of its traffic in the summer and early fall.
Access: From US 285 at Nathrop, go west on County Road 162 about 6 miles. The trailhead is on the north side of the road across from the Chalk Lake Campground. Notes: This short trail (with a few interpretive signs) ends at Agnes Vaille Falls, a small waterfall coming off a rocky shelf below Mt. Princeton. This is a very scenic area with great views of Mt. Princeton to the northwest and of Mt. Antero to the south, but the rock around here is unstable: climbers beware! USGS Maps: Mt. Antero |
