San Isabel National Forest

This 4.6 mile trail is rated difficult as it heads westward into the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness Area below Mt. Adams (one of Colorado's 100 highest peaks). It sees most traffic in the summer and fall.
Access: From Westcliffe go south on State Highway 69 to Schoolfield Road (County Road 140) and turn west. Go to Macey Lane (CR 129), turn left (south) and go to CR 130 (Horn Road). Go west (right) to the Horn Creek Trailhead at the end of the road. Notes: This trail heads west along Horn Creek to the Horn Lakes at the foot of Mt. Adams in the Sangre de Cristo's.
