The Squirrel Creek Trail parallels Squirrel Creek in the east central Wet Mountains. It's a moderately difficult 4.8 mile trail that sees most of its traffic in the summer and fall.
Access: The lower trailhead is at the edge of Pueblo Mountain Park on Squirrel Creek Road off of State Road 78 south of Beulah. The upper trailhead is at the end of Forest Road 382, about 1.5 miles east of State Road 165 near Bishop's Castle. Notes: This 4.8 mile trail follows Squirrel Creek down the hill from the main ridge of the Wet Mountains. Aspen and pine forest, big eastern views, lots of wildlife. USGS Maps: St. Charles Peak |
