Telluride Ski Resort
Telluride, Colorado

From refined, well-groomed runs to the most challenging moguls, Telluride Ski Resort offers a real big-mountain experience to all levels of skiers. While at most ski mountains the highest peaks and greatest views and terrain are reserved for the most advanced skiers, at Telluride even the beginner and intermediate skiers can safely and easily ride to the top and ski back down.

Telluride features three terrain parks: the Ute Park Beginner Terrain Park, a place specifically designed for the beginning park rider (even has its' own dedicated chairlift), the Intermediate Jib Park and the Hoot Brown Expert Terrain Park.

At the top of Lift 10, the TopAten Snowshoe and Nordic Area offers 10 kilometers of groomed, rolling trails through magical meadows and high alpine forests for snowshoers and Nordic skiers. Advanced skiers and snowshoers can also access Alta Lakes (outside the ski area boundary) via National Forest Service trails. The Nordic and Snowshoe Area offers a warming teepee, restrooms and a picnic deck for the public. All you need to get there is a "Foot Passenger" lift ticket: $20 for the day (available at the Mountain Village Activity Center at the bottom of the gondola stairs). Additional Nordic skiing is available at Telluride Town Park, Trout Lake, the Valley Floor, and the Telluride Golf Course.

A local naturalist offers educational snowshoe tours daily, leaving from the Mountain Village Activity Center at 10:00 AM. Snowshoes and a lift ticket to the touring area is provided and no experience is necessary. This is an exhilirating experience: a 2-to-3 hour snowshoe hike through the forest at 11,000 feet while learning about the unique environment surrounding Telluride.
