From Walsenburg take I-25 exit to Hwy. 10, go east 18.5 miles, then south on Cty. Rd. 77 for 7 miles, east on Cty. Rd. 90 for 11 miles to Apishapa State Wildlife Area. Follow signs through wildlife area to northeast side and parking lot.

From Walsenburg go 18.5 miles northeast on Highway 10 to the property sign. Turn southeast and go 20 miles past Mica Butte to property.

From Raton, NM, go 7 miles east on NM Highway 72 & 256, north up Sugarite Canyon 12 miles to Lake Dorothey SWA, then 2 miles northwest on unmarked trail to top of Fisher's Peak Mesa.
