Fielding, Utah

Fielding is located in northeastern Box Elder County along the foothills of the Wellsville Mountains. Fielding was first settled around 1891, near the Bear River Canal that was being built at the time. The local folks had previously enjoyed being spread out across the countryside but the LDS Church insisted that they establish a central town site and it took a while (more than 5 years) for everyone to agree on a spot. The first plat was made in 1894 but Fielding grew so quickly that by 1905 they were on the third addition to the original townsite.
