Kane County is in south central Utah, against the Arizona State Line. Parts of Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument, and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area are here. Kane County was named for Colonel Thomas L. Kane, a friend of the Mormon settlers. Kane County contains 3,992 square miles of land and 116 square miles of water. The county seat is Kanab.
