Sand Hollow State Park, located on Sand Hollow Reservoir, is Utah's newest state park. This is a place where you can go boating and fishing on the reservoir or take the ATV/OHV/dirt bike for a spin on the dunes of Sand Mountain. This is a 20,000-acre park with 15,000 acres of red sand dunes (but only 6,000 acres are designated for OHV use). There are also trails for hikers, bikers and horseback riders.

Sand Hollow State Park is open 365 days a year but the gates close daily from 10 PM to 6 AM. The $10 day use permit covers boat launches and OHV access. You can also buy the $75 annual Utah State Parks pass at the Sand Hollow State Park Visitor Center. Primitive camping on the beach costs $10 per night while camping with full hookups in the main campground runs $25 per night.

To get to Sand Hollow State Park, exit the I-15 at the Hurricane exit (#16), go east 4 miles, then go south 1 mile on Turf Sod Road to the new Sand Hollow access road. Go east on that for 2 miles and follow the signs.
