Mud Lake was settled by a group of Mormon pioneers in the late 1880's. In 1919 they were organized into a Branch Stake of their own. Nearby is the 8,853-acre Mud Lake Wildlife Management Area. This area on the west side of the Snake River Plain is excellent potato-growing countryside. |
