De Baca County is in east central New Mexico. This is where Billy the Kid is buried. This was also the last home of Lucien Maxwell, and he's buried in the same graveyard as Billy the Kid. Founded in 1917, DeBaca County contains 2,325 square miles of land and 9 square miles of water. The county seat is Fort Sumner. |
