Clear Creek County is in the Front Range Mountains area just west of the Denver Metroplex on I-70. The county is most famous for all the hard-rock gold and silver mining that went on here in the late 1800's. Some of that is still going on... but today, this is an area for visiting and seeing what it was really like in Victorian Colorado days... and take a ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad while you're at it.

Clear Creek County contains 395 square miles of land and 1 square mile of water. The county seat is Georgetown.
