
Marriott-Slaterville, Utah
The City of Marriott-Slaterville was created in 1999 when the two settlements of Marriott and Slaterville merged and incorporated. Slaterville was named for Richard Slater who settled there with his family in 1852. The Perry, Field, Smout and Marriott families settled in nearby Marriott around the same time. J. Willard Marriott, hotelier and founder of Marriott International was born and raised in Marriott.
